Candidates

We encourage talk submissions by anyone with a passion for security - students, researchers, professionals, and anyone in the security field with an interesting insight or a new and exciting concept or idea.

Topics

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Network/Cloud/Endpoint Security
  • Mobile/Portable Device Security
  • IoT
  • Radio Hacking (SDR, RF, GSM, NFC, etc.)
  • Application/Web Application Security
  • SecOps
  • DevSecOps
  • Hardware and Embedded Security
  • Cryptography
  • Data Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR)
  • Biometrics Hacking
  • Vulnerability Research & Disclosure
  • Governance, Risk and Compliance
  • Hack The Human & Social Engineering
  • SCADA and Industrial Automation Security
  • Workshop on something awesome
  • Anything hacking
  • Any other InfoSec area

Duration

  • 30 minutes, including Q&A (standard talks)
  • 15 minutes, including Q&A (lightning talks)
  • 1-3 hours (workshops)

Disqualification Info.

  • Talks deemed to be a sales pitch of products/services, or PR marketing campaigns, will not be accepted,and the author may be excluded from consideration for future events (yeah, for realz).
  • Employer logo may appear on two slides ONLY (intro and bio).

Submissions

Talk submissions will consist of:

  • Title of your talk
  • Abstract summarizing your talk (up to 350 words)
  • Short Bio (up to 150 words)
  • Name or Nickname, to appear on Speakers List on our website and social media
  • Twitter handle (if applicable), to appear on Speakers List on our website and social media.
  • Have you presented before? (If yes, please give event name and talk title)
  • Photo/Avatar, to appear on Speakers List on our website.

 

Workshop submissions will consist of:

  • Title of your talk
  • Abstract summarizing your talk (up to 350 words)
  • Short Bio (up to 150 words)
  • Name or Nickname, to appear on Speakers List on our website and social media
  • Twitter handle (if applicable), to appear on Speakers List on our website and social media.
  • Have you delivered a workshop before? (If yes, please give event name and workshop title)
  • Photo/Avatar, to appear on Speakers List on our website.

Process

Candidates can send an email by 22nd December 2019 with their submission details (see above) and any questions to cfp |@| bsidesdub |.| ie Our CFP Review Panel, comprised of experts from both industry and academia, will review all abstracts for appropriateness and the all-important "wow" factor. All submissions will be rated, and the first round of acceptance notices will be issued thereafter, on January 6th. Submitters will have approximately one week to respond, after which time the panel will move down the acceptance list.
